I am a designer originally from Zimbabwe but I have been in Cape Town, South Africa for over 10 years now. I am a young designer with a passion for creating beautiful and timeless designs.
I am working to break into the industry even without having completed a degree. I believe my skills and tenacity will shine through my work
My designs will celebrate and magnify what it is to be African and a child of the 21st century. My favourite design quote is, ‘Graphic Design is intelligence made visible’. I aim to create designs that magnify this truth.
For every designer out here, we all have a way we complete our work no matter what kind of design you do. For me, it is a process I undertake that I learned from high school and was reinforced by my two years at a tertiary institution.
Step 1
I start off with a conversion with my prospective client about requirements and expectations. If it is a logo design I am set to be doing, I have a form they can fill in for me to get an idea of where to start with the design. Here I also get information in regards to the kind of branding they want. What colours? What fonts? Image style? Logo style?
Step 2
The next stage is research into the client's competitors or the design style I am to work in.
Step 3
From the research, I sketch out 5-10 or more potential design solutions. Then narrow them down to the best 3 and present those to the clients.
Step 4
I develop the final concept from the feedback and colourise the ideas.
Step 5
Finalise the design
